Description
TerraGrid Core 40 Biaxial Geogrid is a high-strength ground reinforcement solution used to stabilise weak ground conditions and improve the performance of granular sub-bases.
Manufactured from polypropylene and formed into a rigid biaxial grid structure, TerraGrid Core 40 interlocks with aggregate to create a mechanically stabilised layer. This helps spread loads more effectively, reduces rutting and minimises the amount of imported stone required on site.
Suitable for highways, access roads, haul roads, car parks, working platforms and industrial developments, TerraGrid Core 40 provides a cost-effective solution where poor ground conditions would otherwise require deeper excavation and additional aggregate.
Its 40kN/m tensile strength in both machine and cross-machine directions makes it ideal for projects requiring greater reinforcement than standard entry-level geogrids.

What is TerraGrid Core 40 used for?
TerraGrid Core 40 is used to reinforce weak ground and improve the performance of aggregate sub-bases beneath roads, car parks, working platforms and access tracks.
How does a biaxial geogrid work?
The grid structure interlocks with aggregate, creating a reinforced layer that distributes loads more effectively and reduces movement within the sub-base.
Can TerraGrid Core 40 reduce aggregate depth?
Yes. In many applications a geogrid can reduce the amount of aggregate required while maintaining performance, subject to site design requirements.
Is TerraGrid Core 40 suitable for haul roads?
Yes. The product is commonly used beneath temporary and permanent haul roads where improved load distribution is required.
What roll size is supplied?
TerraGrid Core 40 is supplied in a 4m x 30m roll.
Should geotextile be used beneath TerraGrid Core 40?
On weak or soft ground, a non-woven geotextile is often installed beneath the geogrid to provide separation and prevent contamination of the aggregate layer.
