Description
Ground Stabilisation & Sub-Base Reinforcement
Geoworks TerraGrid Core 20 is a high-performance biaxial geogrid designed to improve ground stability, reinforce aggregate layers and increase load distribution within roads, access tracks, working platforms and civil engineering projects.
When installed within a granular sub-base, the geogrid interlocks with aggregate particles to create a mechanically stabilised layer. This helps reduce rutting, improve bearing capacity and enhance the long-term performance of trafficked surfaces.
TerraGrid Core 20 is particularly effective where weak ground conditions exist or where additional reinforcement is required beneath roads, compounds, car parks, haul roads and infrastructure developments.
Previously supplied as SX Grid 20/20, TerraGrid Core 20 continues to provide a proven solution for ground stabilisation and sub-base reinforcement across a wide range of construction and civil engineering applications.
The biaxial structure delivers tensile strength in both directions, making it ideal for projects where loads are applied from multiple angles and where long-term pavement performance is critical.

Can Geogrid Be Used To Stabilise Soft Ground?
Yes. TerraGrid Core 20 is commonly used to stabilise weak ground conditions beneath roads, access tracks, working platforms and construction compounds. The biaxial structure interlocks with aggregate to improve load distribution and increase bearing capacity.
Can Geogrid Reduce Aggregate Depth?
In suitable applications, geogrids can improve load distribution within the aggregate layer and may help reduce the required stone thickness compared to an unreinforced construction. Project-specific design should always be verified by a qualified engineer.
What Is A Geogrid Used For In Road Construction?
Geogrids are widely used beneath roads, access tracks, haul roads and car parks to reinforce aggregate layers, improve ground stability and extend pavement life.
Is TerraGrid Core 20 The Same As SX Grid 20/20?
Yes. TerraGrid Core 20 is the direct replacement for the previous SX Grid 20/20 range supplied by Geoworks.
When Should I Use Geogrid Instead Of Geotextile?
Geogrids are primarily used for reinforcement and load distribution. Geotextiles are generally used for separation, filtration and protection. In some applications both products are used together.
Can TerraGrid Core 20 Be Used Beneath Access Roads?
Yes. TerraGrid Core 20 is frequently specified beneath temporary access roads, haul roads and construction compounds to improve ground stability and long-term performance.
What Area Does One Roll Cover?
Each roll measures 4m x 50m and provides approximately 200m² of coverage.
Can Geogrid Be Used Beneath Car Parks And Hardstandings?
Yes. Geogrids are commonly installed beneath car parks, hardstandings and industrial yards to improve load distribution and help maintain surface performance over time.
